The following is a copy of the help message sent out by SEAL. SEAL is an
AREAFIX/ALLFIX clone that works with SQUISH. If you are connected to SEAL
here, the help message sent out will contain your actual password that has
been configured here. Also, all AREAFIX/ALLFIX request's MUST be from the
address that is configured to receive the mail, not from an alias that you
may have on your system.
Hello SysOp!
To make modifications to your linked MESSAGE areas, address a message to
AREAFIX at 50:57/0 and list the areas you want to link to or unlink from in
the body of the message.
To make modifications to your linked FILE areas, address a message to
ALLFIX at 50:57/0 and list the areas you want to link to or unlink from in the
body of the message.
Include your password in the subject line of the message, as well as any
of the optional switches:
-L Returns a list of echo and file areas you are linked to.
-N Returns a list of echos to which you are not linked.
-Q Returns a list of echo and file areas that are available to you.
-H Gets this help message.
Note that Don Ludington might have disabled any of these switches.
To link to an area (message or file) simply enter the tag (areaname) of that
area on a line by itself (one areaname per line) in the message, or precede
the tag (areaname) with a plus "+". To unlink from an area (message or file)
precede the tag (areaname) with a minus "-", again, one areaname per line. Do
not put a space between the plus "+" or the minus "-" and the tag. Example:
From: SysOp (50:###/###)
To: AREAFIX (50:57/0)
Subj: PASSWORD -L
--------------------------------------------------------------------
OTTAWA
+MUFFIN
-REG12
You may optionally use keywords in your message instead of the subject line
switches. The equivalents are as follows:
%LIST -Q
%QUERY -Q
%LINKED -L
%HELP -H
%NOTLINKED -N
You can switch between echo and file areas within the same message by using
%ECHO and %FILE as tags in your message, as follows:
%FILE
OTTAWA
%ECHO
+MUFFIN
-REG12
If you want to pause all your areas (unlink from them but keep a list of them)
use the %PAUSE token. To re-establish all the areas previously paused, use
%RESUME.
You may also change your password to PUBLIC2 by using the keyword %PASSWORD
as follows (this may be included in any message to Seal):
From: SysOp(50:###/###)
To: ALLFIX(or AREAFIX) (50:57/0)
Subj: PASSWORD -L
--------------------------------------------------------------------
%PASSWORD PUBLIC2
If you need further assistance, send a message to Don Ludington at 50:57/0.
